Moyamoya Disease and Syndrome are neurological conditions that affect the blood vessels in brain, characterized by progressive stenosis of terminal portion internal carotid artery its main branches, consequent network collateral at base skull whose angiographic pattern simulates a "smoke cloud". Both have universal distribution, although is more frequently seen Asian population. The term "Moyamoya" originates from Japanese, meaning puff cigarette smoke, reflecting characteristic cerebral angiogram these conditions. etiology both not yet fully understood. corresponds to isolated vasculopathy, without risk factors for cerebrovascular disease, whereas Syndrome, there an underlying pathology. In this case report, study presence autoimmune pathology (Graves' Disease) suggest hypothesis Syndrome. natural history varies, they may slow progression with rare intercurrent events or fulminant course rapid decline. absence treatment, disease associated high recurrence events. Therefore, it crucial consider cases diseases.

Progressive vascular changes in Moyamoya syndrome.

Progressive vascular changes are described in an adult with moyamoya syndrome and similar cases are reviewed. Angiographic findings support the concept of a progressive acquired stenosis of the internal carotid artery as the primary abnormality in this syndrome.
